Early this year my colleague Niina got a brilliant idea and called me and said: ”People get different kind of support from the companies when relocating – moving, schools, language etc. But what about psychological support? Is there any support for this?” Back then the answer was no, not really. I got excited and we started to research and benchmark more about this topic. Talking with global mobility professionals also gave us a strong indication that there should be this kind of services. So we decided to roll our sleeves and answer to this need.

Now I am happy to tell that together with Niina as relocation psychologists we support our international clients to make sure among other things that

  • right people leave to the assignments and the process itself is well planned and lead,
  • assignees and families get the most out of living and working abroad and coping with possible challenges as well as
  • the repatriation is planned and supported upfront to the best of the organization and the assignees.

In my opinion we are a great team based on the fact that we have a common and strong background from the field of work and organizational psychology. On top of that we are combining our knowledge and experience from HR inhouse roles and consultancy as well as draw from our own experience of living abroad alone and with a family.

Working together feels also rewarding and inspiring and is a great add to my individual projects – I am still teaching yoga and supporting companies in a different ways including training and coaching. 🙂 However, according to many psychological theories meaningful social connections are the most important ingredients of psychological wellbeing and for me as an entrepreneur and being used to work in a team this has been super welcome cooperation.
